Supplies Needed: -index cards -safety pins (no small gold or straight pins) -hangers -ziptop bags and tape (if needed) The better your items look the better and faster they will sell! Price above garage sale items, a good rule of thumb is 1/4 to 1/3 of the original price, but be sure to price it a fair amount that you would pay. Please use 50 cent increments starting at $1.00 (ex. $2.00, $2.50, $10.50, etc). Use safety pins to pin your tags on clothing and other fabric items. Please no tiny gold ones or straight pins! They aren't very strong. PLEASE check your items for recalls! As we can not sell items that have been recalled!! http://www.cpsc.gov/ABOUT/Cpsia/cpsia.HTML HOW TO PREPARE: Bibs: Please try and pin them together as a group or secure them in a ziptop bag. Hats: Pin the tag on them. Onesies: You can either hang them on a hanger or enclose them in a ziptop bag. Shoes: Need to be held together. Please b sure to secure tags securely on the shoes so they will not fall off. Socks, Accessories, Hair Bow, and Small Toys: All small items and accessories must be put into ziptop bag. VHS Tapes, DVD's, Games, and CD's: All must be in working condition free of scratches and must be original copies nothing home made or burned. Please include original cases as well so the buyer can know what they are buying and look at the content of the item. Tape all tags to the back side of the DVD/Videos/Games so the front is visible. Please make sure that the disk inside is the same as the cover! Puzzles: The best way to sell these are to wrap them in plastic wrap and tape the tag to the outside. This ensures that the puzzle will remain intact with all it's pieces yet buyers can see what it is. Books: Must be in good condition with all pages intact and not damaged. Please tape tags to the backside of the books. Remember that tape can tear some book covers so keep that in mind before you tag them. If they are sets, you can put them in a ziptop bag. TAGGING INSTRUCTIONS Tags should be written in blue or black ink (except for the "ND" which should be in RED ONLY!) Please use legible handwriting, and if you make a mistake on a tag, PLEASE make a new tag. No cross outs will be accepted -- this protects you! Use plain, white (unlined, or use the back of a lined index card), 3x5 index cards only. Pin tags with SAFETY PINS ONLY to the right shoulder of the garment (when looking at it) as shown below. Please do not use straight pins or staples, as these do not hold tags on securely. Any item without a tag will not be sold, so be sure the tag is secure. All clothing must be hung on hangers as shown. Make sure the hook is pointing to the left (make a question mark with the hanger). Also, place items such as comforters, blankets, and bumper pads on a hanger. Write Consignor number about 1 inch down from the top, on the left of EVERY tag, leaving room for the pin. In the middle of the tag, please print a brief description of the item. Include the brand, color, and type of item (pants, shirt, 3 pc. outfit). If the tag falls off the item, the better the description, the easier it is to match it up with the item. In the upper right corner (across from your consignor number) write the size of the item. Do not use S, M, L, for anything other than maternity or young adult clothing. (0-3mo, 3-6mo, 2T, 3T, 6, 7, etc...) In the bottom right corner put the price you would like for each item. Items must be priced at $1.00 OR ABOVE, in whole or half dollar amounts. Pin clothing sets together with safety pins. Use only one tag for sets that are pinned together, such as a shirt and short set. Please make sure all items in sets, clothing or non-clothing, are securely attached together. For small grouped items, pack items in zipper lock bags, tape tags to the outside of the bags and seal the bag with tape. If you would not like your items to go on discount please put a RED "ND" under the price. If there is not a red ND then it will be sold at discounted prices during that portion of the sale. If you would like to donate your items at the end of the sale please put a "D" at the bottom left corner of the tag. Toys must be clean and in working order (batteries included.) Small parts must be bagged and attached to the main part very securely. Please be sure tag is securely attached to each toy. (packing tape works well) |
